Coach's Corner

To finish the three remaining matches we had with 2 wins and a draw was a fantastic way to end the season. The only disappointment I have is that you could see that we had the potential to be playing in the post season if we had more consistency with player selection and performance. To be the only team in the division to beat champions Atlanta FC and to do it on the road was a great achievement. There is no doubt that the energy that the players put into that victory played its part in drawing with Rocket City when we played that next afternoon at home. Winning on the road was something that was very difficult for us early in the season but the team managed 2 in our last 2, with a good 2-1 victory this weekend in Huntsville, AL. Although I was frustrated that we didn’t win by a bigger margin after dominating the match a creating numerous quality goal scoring opportunities, I was pleased the boys did enough to win and secure second place in the division in our inaugural season in the NPSL. With the progress we made over the course of the year, I am very optimistic that we will be fighting to play in the post-season next summer. Thank you to all of our sponsors and fans for making this season a success.
